Genesis Performance Consulting embraces the power of the virtuous cycle to drive continuous improvement.
By cultivating daily habits and routines of excellence, we prime the mind and body for optimal performance. This foundation empowers individuals to compete with unwavering conviction and confidence.
During competition, we emphasize trust in our preparation plan, unwavering focus on key priorities, and effective management of emotions in the face of adversity. This ensures that both mind and body stay aligned and focused on the task at hand.
After each competition, we encourage reflection as a means of learning and growth. By objectively analyzing the outcomes, we identify what worked, what didn't, and why. This knowledge informs our efforts to enhance our preparation for future competitions, perpetuating the Virtuous Cycle.

Austin Merrill, the esteemed mental performance coach and founder of Genesis Mental Performance Consulting, possesses a wealth of experience in navigating the challenges of sports. Despite losing vision in his left eye at a mere two months old, Austin tenaciously pursued his passion for baseball. In high school, he faced setbacks, being cut from the baseball team during both his freshman and junior years. However, he defied the odds and ultimately achieved remarkable success, boasting the second lowest single-season earned run average in his school's history. Austin's journey continued at the collegiate level, where he played baseball at Chapman University. The turning point in Austin's transformative journey came during his senior year when he was introduced to a book called "The Mind Gym," a recommendation that proved pivotal. This literary work enlightened Austin to the profound impact of the mental aspect of the game and the significance of training it. Following the conclusion of his playing career, Austin pursued a master's degree in sports psychology at Cal State University Long Beach. He then had the privilege of working with the esteemed Atlanta Braves organization, learning from respected mentors and further honing his expertise. Today, Austin leverages his diverse background and personal experiences to serve athletes of all ages and sports across the nation, acting as an invaluable resource in their athletic and personal development
